An iconic 182 meter statue that’s a tribute to the Iron Man of India is built near the Sadhu Bet Island approximately 3-5 km south to Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadia in the Narmada district of Gujarat. This inspiring memorial site, with a number of edutainment components, is between the Satpura and Vindhyachal ranges near the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River and the town of Kevadia. The majesty of this grand monument is enhanced by a picturesque backdrop. There could not be more grand, as also apt, location for the Statue of Unity to be erected than the Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River. The grand monument is placed directly facing the Narmada Dam, which also named after the Iron Man of India is at a distance of 3-2 km from Sadhu Bet.
The Dam itself is considered to be one of the largest structures standing at a height of 138 feet rising tallest from amid one of the most revered rivers of India, nestled in the foothills of mountain terrain and surrounded by bountiful natural beauty. Sadhu Bet is an idyllic location for the statue.
Already a tourist favourite, especially in the monsoons when the Sardar Sarovar Dam over-flows in all its magnificence, the Statue of Unity promises to be one of the most visited tourist spots not only of the nation, but also of the world.
